Alto Palermo S.A. - Dot Baires Shopping

Dot Baires Shopping Center, the largest shopping mall in Argentina, opened its doors on May 13th, 2009. MoebiusIT developed software for their unattended "multifunctional terminals", whose primary goal is to provide information services and to serve as a parking lot pay station.

Goals:

• "Plug & play" parking lot pay station software component.
• Reusable, independent modules to handle hardware components and interact with other software services.

Our solution:

• "Plug & Play" behaviour achieved thanks to a careful architecture based on design patterns..
• We designed and developed the following modules:
  • Online communication with credit/debit card transaction approval services.
  • Onlinke communication with the shopping mall's general parking lot managing system.
  • Tax authority approved "fiscal comptroller" handler
  • Magnetic card reader
  • Input / output devices: touchscreen, barcode reader, RS-232 ports, etc.
• The above software components integrated easily into the solution using object oriented programming (OOP) techniques, and they are being succesfully re-used in new projects without modification.
